"I aim to encourage viewers to have a refreshing, unconventional, and easy-going perspective on life through design."
Hello, I'm Marissa Lustan, a Filipino-American graphic designer residing in Virginia. I graduated in May 2024 from George Mason University, earning my Bachelor of Arts in graphic design with a minor in web design.
I was exposed to lots of creativity in my household at a young age. With my dad being a successful graphic designer, his devotion to the craft inspired me to go the same career route. Ever since I was little, my passion for art has continued to grow. From working with media like oil pastels, watercolor, charcoal, and graphite, I have been able to successfully transition my traditional creative skills to the digital realm. Now, I focus on actively improving and refining my impressive skills with the Adobe Suite applications, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
My bubbly and high-spirited personality is reflected in my work, as I like to not take my artwork too seriously. My main inspiration for pieces comes from personal experiences, incorporating hidden meanings within my works, which mainly include posters ranging from editorial collages to quirky illustrations.
I look forward to gaining more experience and making connections with other designers while transitioning my skills into the professional community.
